Saturday, August 7th 2010 we lost our dear friend Lars Overgaard, who passed away after a long battle with some severe health issues.
Words can’t describe how devastated we all are – he was a member of the family, a one-of-the-kind gentle soul, a ridiculously talented professional: always in good spirits, ready to attack whatever musical nonsense we’d throw at him and make it sound immense; he was an undeniably vital part not only of our sound but of all of us as a band… and individuals.
We’ll miss his wit, his relentless support to whatever we were doing, his priceless advices… we’ll miss him calling frequently, asking about every tiny detail of our lives… we’ll also miss calling him and shamelessly brag about our successes and bitch about our failures. Rest in peace, Lars, we loved you dearly and we always will…Rest in peace, brother.

ROYAL HUNT has signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the European release of its new album, “X“. Estimated release date – early June 2010.

We received a few requests for a Japanese version of the Forum (including a “news update” section); an interesting idea, so we decided to give it a shot. To all of you new members – welcome!

We extended our contract with Marquee/Avalon Records in order to include our new album; “X” will be released on January 21st, 2010 throughout Japan and SE Asia.
